Our Story

Ever since I saw my first episode of “Shark Tank” I knew I wanted to own my own business. I just didn’t know what I wanted to do. Then, when I was 11 years old, I had this crazy idea of getting some bees and selling honey. I had been fascinated by bees for a while, and the more I learned about them, the more intrigued I became. So, I wondered, “Could this crazy idea turn into my long-dreamed business?” I wasn’t sure, so I told my mom my idea. "Funny you should say that," she responded. "I've been thinking about getting some honeybees, too." And with that

Owen’s Honey Hive was born.

Neither my mom nor I were sure how to begin beekeeping, but luckily for us, the Mississippi Gulf Coast Beekeepers Association was offering a free course in beekeeping the following month right in Long Beach. We both attended, eager to learn all we could. The most important thing we learned in the class was that there's a lot more to beekeeping than we thought. We decided to spend the next year learning all we could, building our hives, getting our equipment, and building the foundation of our business. In 2023 we officially founded our company, and at 13 years of age my dream of becoming a business owner came true.

As Owen's Honey Hive grows, we plan to bring you not just delicious 100% pure, raw, and unfiltered honey straight from our hives, but also an array of bee-based products!
